Cambry Kaylor - Cambry is the head coach of Technique and has vaulted since 1995. With Redwing Vaulting Club in Washington, she was
a national champion in both the 2-Phase and C-Team events. She earned her silver canter medal in California with Tambourine Vaulters
and was a flyer on their A-Team. Later, Cambry moved to Utah where she joined the Oak Hills Vaulters' A-Team, coached by Kristy Fleming.
After sustaining a spinal cord injury in 2005, Cambry returned to vaulting as a coach. In 2007, she took 9 vaulters to the national
championships. Her vaulters brought back many awards, among them, the national woman's trot championship and the B-Team national
championship. Recently, Cambry has been invited to clinic teams across the nation and in Canada. Cambry loves everything
about coaching. She loves the horses, the traveling, and making friends, but what she loves most are those magical moments
between horse and vaulter when the horse gives everything it has and the vaulter achieves something they have never reached
before. Credentials aside, Cambry is a positive role model for all those she coaches.
Jodie Howard - Jodie wears many hats at Technique. She assists as a coach, longeur, and horse trainer. Jodie is the only gold
level vaulter in the state of Utah. She began vaulting in 1990 and has vaulted with five clubs in California. At age
15, Jodie became the women's silver national champion. She perfomed with the vaulting demo team at the 1996 Olympics
in Atlanta. She has vaulted in Holland, Italy and Austria, where she placed in the top 20, a rare accomplishment for a U.S.
competitor. Jodie coached for four years at Pacific Coast Vaulters and has trained horses currently competing in the
AVA. Jodie is great with the vaulters as well as the horses. We are sure glad she is here!
Kim Kaylor - When she is not teaching 6th grade, Kim acts as longeur, trainer, dance coach and team mom. Kim grew
up around horses, but was not introduced to vaulting until she was a mother with girls who wanted to vault. Kim was a dancer
and taught ballet for many years in Los Angeles and Seattle. She worked as the dance coach for a competitive gymnastics program
and also coached lower levels of gymnastics. Kim loves this opportunity Technique offers to work with great kids
and fabulous horses - what a super combination.
Makenna Kaylor - Makenna is Technique's gymnastics coach. She began gymnastics at age 3. At age 12, Makenna started
vaulting, quickly earning her bronze medal and was part of a 2-phase national championship team. She was also a competitive optional
level gymnast. Makenna gave up vaulting to focus on gymnastics, but recently returned to the sport as a silver vaulter when her sister
began coaching. She was a member of the national championship B-team in August. Makenna currently works full-time at
All American Gymnastics Center in Lindon, where she coaches competitive gymnasts and works with our canter vaulters. Makenna has attended
several national gymnastics conventions allowing her to provide Technique with state-of-the art conditioning, flexability, and
skill based training. There's no doubt Makenna loves coaching.
