The Technique Rescue Project was launched as an effort to involve our vaulters and their families in a worthwhile community service project while giving the vaulters the opportunity to care for and love a horse in need. We began with the expertise of April Mason, director of Majestic Mustang Rescue, who located a horse in need. Jay Carrol of Silver Springs Stables donated a stall, and we were off and running, well actually walking, feeding, grooming, and mucking out an extra stall. ''Wish" arrived and touched us all. Vaulters hurried to donate time and money to get this darling little paint on the road to recovery. (Wish arrived covered in sores and so thin we could see every bone.) Peyton Hathorne stepped up to become the director of the project and even created a facebook page for him. In less than 5 weeks, Wish has healed up and returned to normal weight as well as gaining quite a bit of spunk. He now winnies when anyone he knows comes to visit, and is being ridden and readied for someone to adopt him. We are not sure who has gained the most from this experience, Wish or the Technique families that have cared for him . We want to thank all who have donated, time, money, and love to change the life of this special little horse. We hope to repeat this inspiring experience again soon.
